PLEASE VOTE FOR US TO BE LOCAL CHARITY OF THE YEAR AT SAINSBURY’S

We have been shortlisted to be local charity of the year at some Sainsbury’s stores across Wales and to be the chosen charity we now need as many votes as possible so please can you vote for us online at the link below (for every area!) and if you are local to any of these stores and can call in you can also vote there! This has to be done by 3rd July and the chosen charities are announced on the 10th July.
If you can share this with as many friends and contacts as possible, including social media, that will boost our chances of at least getting one or two of these. The stores who picked us in their top 3 are:

  • Llandudno
  • Swansea (Gower Rd)
  • Cardiff (Bute St)
  • Penarth
  • Newport (Albany St) - this one is not online yet but please keep checking or call in to store if nearby

Please vote here: www.sainsburyslocalcharity.co.uk

When you enter the town name it will ask you to vote using button and then submit using button and you should then get a message saying you have voted for Tros Gynnal Plant and can then put in another town to try and cover them all!
Many thanks for your support with this as it will help us to help more children, young people and their families across Wales with the fantastic support given by Sainsbury’s customers and staff.

Such sad news to hear that Rhodri Morgan, former First Minister of the Welsh Assembly, passed away on 18th May 2017.

Here are some photos of Rhodri at our 10th Anniversary event in 2012, and at the launch of CAFCASS Cymru in 2004 with a young person from our Merthyr Tydfil Participation Project.

He was a great friend and supporter of Tros Gynnal Plant and the Third Sector in general. He had an easy rapport with everyone, babies, children, young people and adults alike and he had a rare ability to engage with children and young people, making them feel that what they had to say was important and valid.

I was fortunate to benefit from his advice and insight on many occasions.  He was everything and more than what is being reported in his obituaries. I cannot add anything other than to say that I feel that I was very privileged to have known Rhodri at a significant time in our history and believe that the Human and Children’s Rights agenda would not have been so far advanced in Wales without him.
